It was September 9th 1944. The opera we would see
tonight was the beautiful Aida with elaborate costumes and powerful music by
Giuseppe Verdi.
One of our professors at the university I was attending took

The picture of Ilona is so enchanting, and Professor Stern sounds to me like a wonderful man, desiring to expose his students to the arts and give them a well rounded education, in addition to being very respectful of his countrymen who gave their lives for their country.
