  1. I remember this day well, and how much the boys and I loved our trip to SAM with Ilona and Hal and the intriguing and beautiful work of Picasso we saw that day. Hal and Ilona bought both the boys a special Picasso (with a drawing of a Picasso self-portrait on the cover) set of drawing pencils that day as well from the museum gift shop that they still have–a precious keepsake from a very special day.

  2. I remember this picture. Now the boys are young men. I’m so glad they had a chance to experience this once-in-a-lifetime exhibit. And to have this memory of a special time with their Auntie Ilona and Uncle Hal. Thomas carries his uncle’s name, Halvor, as his middle name. A beautiful legacy is attached to that name which will live on with him and help orient him as he continues to mature. thank you for sharing this precious memory.

  3. What a wonderful picture, and I so enjoyed reading about this day in Seattle at the SAM, taking in great art.

  4. It is nice to look back on pictures and be able to remember what the event was. For two young boys to see and enjoy a famous Art showing is wonderful. The boys definitely have grown up.
