For obvious reasons, this story and this picture have a very special place in my heart. I remember this gorgeous Bastille Day luncheon so fondly as one of my favorite photography and culinary bliss days from the time we were co-producing the beautiful cookbook that many of Ilona’s dearest friends and family own. It was also so special because it was shared with Hall, Ilona, and Ilona’s lovely friend Joanne. Also, besides this lovely table setting, Ilona’s whole apartment was decorated in red, white, and blue for Bastille Day. This is one of my favorite memories. Thank you, dearest Ilona, for this beautiful day and now this beautiful story to help it live on forever. Marcie
I wish I could have been there! What fun! This is our Ilona at her best. A beautiful setting. Wonderful f00d. an exquisite table and dear friends. She always knows how to offer hospitality in the most beautiful manner. This is who she is. This is what she offers to so many who come into her friendship. I love this about her and am inspired to follow in her footsteps. I only wish I could be such a good baker and kitchen chef!! She is an inspiration indeed.
