Ilona Cole, Story 90

An Unforgettable Luncheon with Treasured Friends

Smooch Attack by Sharon

My life is not very exciting if it were not for my short stories. I have now been a widow for five years. I lost my beloved husband Hal to a long illness. But I still have my dear, dear friends because I keep them in my heart. One of our friends lives in Berkeley/California and has been dearly missed. An illness and then Covid 19 kept her from making this journey up here to Washington State. But now is the time!

Oh, today is the day we organized a luncheon. Today is the day we, Marcie, Bev, Traci, Sharon and myself, Ilona, are able to give each other big hugs and to see our dear Sharon in person. Bev came first and she had made a fruit salad, that is every one

  3. I am still feeling the warmth of this lovely afternoon with such dear ones. I want it to start all over again! It does in my memory. Such a treasured afternoon and Ilona captured its spirit so well. But nothing can recreate the exquisite chocolate mousse. Only the experience of actually tasting it. Heavenly!!!! Oh my! We will get together again soon. I cannot stand such long intervals between hugs in person and face to face conversation. Such a gift our dear Ilona offers to us. She is our glue and inspiration. Always has been. Always will be. Love always.
