  1. What a charming and precious story. Of course our Ilona hopped on one foot to the music. Of course she leaned over the rope to be near the beautiful horse. She was ever the eager, energetic and curious one. I can just see her, and her serious and composed big sister Friedl. What a pair. I suspect dear Friedl spent many a day trying to keep her lively sister in check — and enjoyed every moment of it. Their beautiful relationship is a story in itself. Two sisters who shared so many tragic and also beautiful times. There was never a more loyal, loving, and tender bond than the one Ilona and Friedl shared. I feel so privileged to have witnessed even a small glimpse of this so many years ago. Their story is an inspiration that continues to make a difference even now. Thank you for sharing this little tale dear Ilona.
