This heartbreaking second part of the story about sweet Walter after he was lost to tragic war and Ilona meeting his brother again at University and taking her to meet their mother–is so sweet and also so sad.
This story captures both the beauty and the tragedy of life and humanity.
Thank you, Ilona, for sharing your poignant stories with us. We are all richer as a result. Marcie
I finished reading this little tale with tears in my eyes, thinking of the terrible loss to Wilhelm, his mother, and the compassion Ilona felt for them, as well as her great sadness to have lost her friend to war. Thank you Ilona and Marcie.
Of course Walter had a crush on Ilona! And I bet he was not the only one. Those dark gorgeous eyes. Yet what a sad tale this is. It could have, should have had a different ending…. There should have bee so many many more different endings…. Our dear tenderhearted and compassionate Ilona. So many powerful memories … Sending love.
