Marcie Sims is a teacher, author, and editor. She teaches literature/film, composition, and creative writing courses at Green River College in Auburn, WA. She lives on Vashon Island, just a short ferry ride away from Seattle, Washington. She writes fiction (short stories and novels), poetry, composition textbooks and has written one historic overview of Capitol Hill Pages as a former U.S. Senate page herself.

  1. The house looks just like I pictured it in my imagination. I can “see” the setting of so many of Ilona’s stories. It breaks my heart that the family was forced to move from their place of memories and safety. Karin’s reflection captures my feelings exactly. Two young women, not only making the best of a horrible situation, but rising to the occasion to show true dignity, compassion and the best of human nature. Qualities that Ilona has demonstrated the rest of her life.
