I found this story funny and charming, to learn how an American custom, known and understood by people born in the United States, sounds to others who are unaware of the custom. And I
What a sweet and charming little tale. Makes me smile and also realize how what we so often take for granted is a puzzle to others not familiar with some of our “traditions.” I love the image I have of Ilona trying to explain this to Friedl. (I don’t know if she actually convinced her sister of the merit of this “shower” tradition!) Thank you dear Ilona for making me giggle!
